neepheid Posted March 13, 2008 Posted March 13, 2008 It does seem a little close to the edge... Quote
RayFW Posted March 13, 2008 Posted March 13, 2008 Looks similar to this one. String through body as well. 2000 American Standard Quote
paul, the Posted March 13, 2008 Posted March 13, 2008 (edited) Even scarier... does a well placed decal make it original? This is one of the reasons I was drawn to my P-special. http://i64.photobucket.com/albums/h197/fun...8_/PICT0974.jpg There just isn't going to be a decal for it. Deep Thought Posted March 13, 2008 Posted March 13, 2008 That's virtually identical to mine-my decal is a tiny bit further from the edge than that, but only by a few mm. Same neck plate, only difference I can see is that the string tree on that on has a raised rim, mine is flat. If it's a fake, I'd've said it was a pretty good one-but I am also no expert, I must confess. Quote
The Burpster Posted March 13, 2008 Posted March 13, 2008 If your serious or want a go at it, ask for a detailed close up pic of teh back ot the headstock and check teh serial no against fenders tech suupport. Looks OK to me... in fact if I hadnt sorted out a H1 I would have a pop at it myself at its current price Quote
Stag Posted March 13, 2008 Author Posted March 13, 2008 yeah... i thought the price was pretty nice for a USA P tbh... Quote
coasterbass Posted March 14, 2008 Posted March 14, 2008 I did find the seller's feedback quite interesting - particularly his responses to those who left negative feedback. : ) Not that I'm a purist or anything, but I always feel better buying a bass from a) a shop; one of you guys; c) someone on ebay who appears to play bass/sell just basses. Guys that sell patio heaters and gnomes don't inspire confidence. Quote
