I was at Gafbass' house the other night and tried his MIJ Jazz and I fell in love with the neck, a maple Mighty Mite neck, now I'm thinking about getting one for my MIM Jazz.

Would the quality be better or worse than the neck I have at the moment and can you get them with black block inlays?

Hi WPD,

I may be completely off base (no pun intended) here, but the only easily available black block inlays are on the Squier VMJ.
Presumably the Geddy Lee Jazz will be prohibitive and there's nothing with blocks on the MMite web-site.

Now the mad guesswork. Er MightyMite. Strong Links to Cort, er no names mentioned of course. Who make s the Squier VMJ? I couldn't possibly say.

As for profile, neck pocket dimensions, depth of neck and finish you'll have to check elsewhere. but, you never know........

Balcro.

PS. Unfortunately only 20 frets.

Muhahahah :) Glad you liked it dude, that bass really is something else. :)

Lemmywinks, My proper fenders aren't transfers, they're real block necks. It's only the backups I do the stickers on.

As far as i know the mighty mites come in pretty much a full range of p and j, maple and rosewood and dot/blocks. Mine was from bass parts resource. :0)
It was ace to meet you dude.

Ooh forgot to say. The quality was top notch easily on a par With the white cij jazz streets ahead of many I've played and on a par with the geddy and Marcus basses I've owned too.

MM necks are pretty amazing for price, and I prefer the tint on the maple ones. Quality wise is on par with CIJ/MIJ stuff, if not better in some cases. I had a jazz neck on a P once, it was a little fat but felt more comfortable than a fender standard jazz neck.
