I just bought a lovely Alembic from a fella in New Jersey, and am hoping to get back into playing now. The beast has such high output I have had to turn down all the trim pots in the control cavity to stop the amp clipping at lowest gain! Lovely tone - came with 40-100 flatwounds, but have switched to 35-90 roundwounds until I can get some proper 30-90 banjo strings on :) Very happy with it so far.

Welcome to the club!

I lived in the London Borough of Sutton (Hackbridge & Carshalton) for 34 years before I moved to Berkshire. Know that part of the world very well!

Played in a few local bands between 1986 & 1991 in the area too!

Cheers,

Nice bass :)

I just sold one very similar that went to Israel.

Might need to give it a bit of time to settle in to our climate (especially if you're changing string gauges).

Some Alembics can be quite sensitive to changing climates and seasons.
