Chris2112
I remember that video of Wishnevski playing one of his basses in a backyard blues jam with a guitarist. I'd get the video off YouTube if I wasn't using my iPhone. It was hilarious, the playing from both musicians was so ponderous and awful. It was ridiculed on talkbass before they outlawed the criticism of anyone who uses the site.
Mr. Foxen
Some typical wishbass noises with untypical wishbass playing. I know the vid you mean, but I can't find it, in front of what appears to be a barn full of junk and short shorts, with risk of further 'junk'. Used to be on Wishnevsky's youtube channel.

Mr. Foxen
Are you in during daytimes? Maybe I could get it delivered to you and pick it up in the evening, easier that finding some couriers collection point.
BassBod
Yes mate...but I've got soo many sessions/rehersals/gigs to do every day, every week, for the forseable future it could be difficult........but really yes, that could work fine. As long as I don't have to look at it...or inspect it, or anything like that. Signed for unopened...I don't want any of that pointy knot-ridden bark of doom stuff anywhere near my nice innocent truss-rodded Jazz basses and Cliftons. They're all so nice. Go on, tell me the bark was an extra charge item.

When I first heard of them it was a sort of morbid rubber-neck curiosity, but now I've seen a bunch of photos and the odd YouTube moment...I'm just scared I might like them in the end. I can "get" the Carl Thompson thing, and the Birdsong thing....but, so far, not the Wish thing, even accounting for the prices. Its just too folksy-hippy-can'tbearsedtoitright-whoneedsatrussrodanyway-dangnabbit. Where's my banjo. If that makes any sense. I should probably just get some sleep. Mr. Foxen
The nut width is optional, as is the truss rod. They are custom basses, you ask for what you want.
paul h
I had a 6 string fretless and it was actually a great bass. Turns out I was too rubbish to play it though.

Beer of the Bass
Am I missing something, or are the bridge pieces further back on the G than the E string? Unless you string it left-handed, that'll limit the intonation adjustment a bit, surely.
Mr. Foxen
Not sure why that's like that, but they are all coming off for the finish anyway, they are too tall for the through neck, so probably have to route them in a bit. Fitting a bridge was a bonus. Edited October 1, 2011 by Mr. Foxen
TheRev
That looks the business. What finish are you gonna do?
Mr. Foxen
The strings are too high at the moment, I ordered it as a blank pretty much, all the fettling and such is down to me to do. I tnd to move the strings closer to the center of the board so I can do slight bends for dissonance in either direction.
