Usually because they are encouraged by family etc.

Give him the benefit of the doubt, he's only a young lad out to impress. He'll get enough comments under his video telling how bad his video is without us adding to it.

Did you know that The Beatles 1966 album 'Revolver' was originally going to be recorded in Memphis, Tennessee and [u]NOT [/u]Abbey Road Studios in London??

All of a sudden I don't feel quite so bad about my lack of chops...

But it did have the effect of lengthening the "maybe a couple more months practice before I look to find a band" - I have an extremely low embarassment threshold, unlike this kid!

The most important thing is to get out there and start doing it... start mixing with people, surround yourself with people better than you - it will elevate your player quicker than you could ever imagine... otherwise you'll just turn into yet another bedroom player. Granted, practice... but you got to have something to practice for.
