Bilbo
Martin Kemp (Eastenders) was the bass player with Spandau Ballet. Those of us over 30 will know this already but younger BCr's may not. For the record, he has had 49 film and tv acting jobs whilst SB produced only 7 albums and was acting before he played bass. I guess that makes him an actor!! Hobbayne
How a bout the late, great George Harrison? Not really known for his bass playing abilities while a member of a famous scouse band!
daz
If I can just throw a slight tangent into this thread. I have found a Pixies parody by Chris Morris, brilliant extremely well observed both in lyrical style and sonic useage . Its absolutely spot on! (audio only, unfortunately) Highlight below for the lyrics. Not that they are offensive or anything. I just dont want to ruin the listen for you. But they are here for your perusal later if you want. von Braun
Just read that Adam Clayton bit in work and burst out laughing....getting some serious glares now. Time to hit the road I think. Just finished reading a John Lennon biography, apparantly after the Beatles split up, Keith Richard stood in on bass for him with Clapton on lead for some televised gig he'd contracted to do. Mind you, I'd heard that Keef (allegedly) re-recorded a lot of Wyman's parts anyway.......so not really news that

von Braun
Some band! Did a bit more digging on Keef's bass playing career, looks as if he did a fair bit of Exile on Main Street, probably because it was recorded in the basement of his chateau and he couldn't be a*sed waiting for Wyman to arrive! mep
The lovely Sarah-Jane Honeywell from cbeebies plays bass. I once saw her play a bit on Tikkabilla.
