john_the_bass
27brigade are at the Running Horse in Nottingham tonight from 8 ish I think. I'll be the one covered in emulsion paint...err...and playing the bass.
David Nimrod
I went down to see this gig, last night at the 'Runner... I gotta say the crowd was paltry, & on a Sat. night too! John was easily the best musician there, with some really good bass lines. And a drummer who must be challenging to play with... Nice tone from the Ashdown 1 x 15" and Jazz bass combination Still, it worries me when gigs like this are so badly attended... It was listed in the Guardian guide too (thinks, maybe that was the problem!).
john_the_bass
thanks David, you're too kind! It was alright, I had a good night, despite the crowd (actually wasn't bad compared to a Leicester turnout!) and my numerous f*ck ups, but these things happen and nice to meet David too. BigRedX
Pity I was in London looking at my Sei or I would have been at this. However isn't 27Brigade your originals band? All the gigs at the Running Horse I've attended (none recently I must add) have been strictly blues based and mainly covers. Anyway if your playing in Nottingham again let us know and I'll do my best to attend!
David Nimrod
Barry's left the 'Runner, he's at the Boat Club now, and the Blues have moved with him...

David Nimrod
I can feel a 'Nottingham BC night out' coming on
john_the_bass
yeah, 27brigade is the originals band. we went down to play with the Bets who put their own nights on there. If the boat club is the Britannia Boat Club next to the Forest Ground, we've played there with the Bets too (who are also putting their own nights on there). I think he has left The Runner, only to return, on a number of occasions, not least because, in his absence, the place always tends to go downhill very rapidly live music-wise.
