Moos3h Posted September 4, 2011 Posted September 4, 2011 (edited) Hi folks, Not sure if this exists (or in fact if this is the right place for it) but what about a complete list of decent online shops for bass gear? Might become a really useful resource? ONLY shops that mention actual stock online should be included rather than 'generic' pages where you can't see stock or buy online. I'll start with the ones I can think of right now: Mansons Exeter - www.mansons.co.uk Coda Music - www.coda-music.com Bass Direct - www.bassdirect.co.uk Bass Gallery (Camden) - www.thebassgallery.com Bass Merchant - www.bassmerchant.com Sounds Live - www.soundslive.co.uk / www.soundsliveshop.com Bass Centre - www.basscentre.com dv247 - www.dv247.com GAK - www.gak.co.uk Absolute Music - www.absolutemusic.co.uk [Europe] http://www.musik-produktiv.co.uk [Europe] http://www.thomann.de/gb/index.html Bass Gear - www.bassgear.co.uk Andertons - http://www.andertons.co.uk/ GuitarGuitar - http://www.guitarguitar.co.uk/bass_guitars.asp Project Music - http://www.projectmusic.net/bass-guitars-176-c.asp Academy of Sound - www.theacademyofsound.co.uk Gregs guitars - http://www.gregsguitars.net/Vintage_Bass__other.php Promenade Music - http://www.promenademusic.co.uk/guitars/bass-guitars [Europe] - www.woodbrass.com [Europe] - www.euroguitar.com [Europe] - Doctor Bass - http://www.doctorbass.net/en/verfamilia.asp?idfam=1000166929 [Europe] - Todobajos - http://www.todobajos.com/ Gig Gear - www.giggear.co.uk Keep 'em coming - if I have the facility, I'll edit the post so the entries appear at the top. dc2009 Posted September 4, 2011 Posted September 4, 2011 I wouldn't class Mansons as particularly decent but then that's my own gripe. I'd add: dv247 - www.dv247.com GAK - www.gak.co.uk Absolute Music - www.absolutemusic.co.uk Quote
dc2009 Posted September 4, 2011 Posted September 4, 2011 And the bass centre too: http://www.basscentre.com/ Quote
Green Alsatian Posted September 4, 2011 Posted September 4, 2011 I've had great service from both Thomann and Musik Produktiv, both in Germany - their sites indicate stock and both offer swift shipping to the UK. I've had all orders within a week on standard delivery. Musik Produktiv even take Paypal. Pete Academy Posted September 4, 2011 Posted September 4, 2011 I run our bass department, which is decently stocked with the usual suspects, but we can't compete with the big boys and hold expensive basses. Might be worth a look, though. Quote

Their web site is not what you would call up to date. I saw they were advertising (& still are) a box of 3 Elite strings for £41.99 which I thought was a good deal. I was in there over a year ago and asked for them, to be told they did'nt have any in stock and that deal was not available. I said I saw them on the web site and the guy said he would look into it. Still is I suppose? I sometimes wonder what would happen if I tried to order them online. Quote
Balcro Posted September 4, 2011 Posted September 4, 2011 (edited) www. giggear.co.uk Only small selection in Hertford apparently better in Harlow. Europe:- www.woodbrass.com (France) Prices displayed in Euro's & Pounds. 3yr guarantee. www.euroguitar.com (France). Likewise with prices. Balcro. Edited September 4, 2011 by Balcro Quote

My old warwick was bought through them too, but because I had no choice as that's the way Warwick do business here... Just never a massive fan of the service, some of the guys are friendly enough, and what with the warwick, various strings and pedals, I probably spent £2000 in there between the ages of 14-19 (I worked a hell of a lot in the summer holidays to afford bass stuff, spent all my birthday money on it etc), the lions share of that being on my Warwick, yet I still got the impression on plenty of occasions it wasn't worth the hassle I was going to get when I asked someone if I could try a bass or an amp or a pedal. They instantly care for the older guys who they know are more likely to have the cash to splash, it's probably correct, but doesn't incline you to buy something from there when you're stood right there. They're alright, sure, do I prefer the bass gallery now I live in London? You bet! Quote

BigRedX Posted September 5, 2011 Posted September 5, 2011 If this is supposed to be list of GOOD on-line shops you will probably need to take Bass Centre out of there. Quote
