Line6 are going to release 2 versions of a Lowdown head

I love my Lowdown Studio combo and it does inspire me to practice more. I've just seen that they're planning on releasing head versions to cater for gigging musicians. From the specs they seem quite 'large' at 3 rack spaces. I'm hoping they make a very interesting alternative to buying an SVT.

I've done full band practices and gigs with my little Lowdown going through the PA and it was quite a lot of fun.

I love my little studio combo but don't think I'd go for it as a head as I reckon the little 10" speaker in a sealed box has as much to do with the sound quality as the amp/modelling if not more.

I'm liking the sound of the LD400 Pro... 2x10", external speaker out... been hoping they would come out with something like this ever since I saw the first LowDowns.

The question is, are they going to be putting out cabs as well?

I can't think of anything that Line6 can bring to the cab market that isn't there already. I think they should just sell Line6 decals to put on existing cabs. Genious!

To be honest this dosnt excite me in the slightest, And i was discussing with Ped at the NW bass why.

The simply fact is the Lowdown combos arnt all that great. They do a job, and filled a gap in that market. great.

But how much are these heads gonna cost? If its anywhere around the £500 mark you could get a podxt and a poweramp and have a whole lot more at your disposal!

2pennethinnit.

Inclined to agree with Ste here. Might be cool if they released a 1u poweramp with a gap for an XTpro or something, but meh. They seem to have a lot of conflicting products out at the moment!

What £150 power amp is any good then? Pod XT Pro is £350.

You can get a POD xt used for little over £100. lob that in your gigbag and take a 2u poweramp. Im not saying its a completly useless idea, it just seems to overlap a little bit too much.
