phil.i.stein Posted September 8, 2011 Posted September 8, 2011 for anyone who may be interested.. here's the concept http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/deviev...ep-guitar-pedal it requires a starter support pledge, which tbh may mean that it doesn't happen, but i'm hoping. if it doesn't happen you don't pay, if it does, you do. credit cards are brilliant !!! oh ! and it will do triplets. booyaka !!! woodyratm Posted September 8, 2011 Posted September 8, 2011 I love the sound of this... 20k needed though? :0 Quote
Wooks79 Posted September 8, 2011 Posted September 8, 2011 Backed and bought fingers crossed it happens! Quote
pantherairsoft Posted September 8, 2011 Posted September 8, 2011 Thats a hell of a lot of funding needed. I can do everything a million times over with my set up - but If I wanted a mini board for open mic nights (thats a thought!) then this would be a possibility! Quote

craigcapener Posted September 9, 2011 Posted September 9, 2011 Yeah i was interested in this, but it seems a little unrealistic to get that much funding. Good luck to them though..if it comes out i will probably defiantly buy one! Quote

waynepunkdude Posted September 10, 2011 Posted September 10, 2011 I hope it doesn't get funding then I'll get a loan and make it myself and make thousands, THAT'S CAPITALISM. Quote

That may stop you. If it was an easy move, and the market is established, Boss or whatever may have made one by now. But anyway, you can already make these noises with other kit. I think one of the USPs is that this is in a stompbox and hence much more portable, but possibly limited in scope and application. Let's see! Quote
Wooks79 Posted September 10, 2011 Posted September 10, 2011 No more pledges since I did, not looking good for hitting the ambitious target So go on, what's best to use to do the same that's currently available? (everyone needs a plan B!) Quote
Wud Posted September 10, 2011 Posted September 10, 2011 There is the Dubscope pedal from co pilot - http://www.copilotfx.com/dubscope.html I went the Moogerfooger route Quote

phil.i.stein Posted September 10, 2011 Author Posted September 10, 2011 (edited) i'm also having some luck with my octavius squeezer at this type of thing, by using the same sound on different patches running at different lfo rates, but the user interface can drive you bloody insane. edit : and of course, it can't be controlled by an expression pedal. also awaiting the source audio b.e.f.pro, i'll see what that can do. You can either make the pedal or you can't and circuit boards can't cost that much can they? Quote
uncle psychosis Posted September 12, 2011 Posted September 12, 2011
You can either make the pedal or you can't and circuit boards can't cost that much can they?
Manufacturing doesn't work like that. You need to source (and buy) parts in bulk or else costs go up massively, you need to devote time to R&D and building prototypes, you need to factor in the cost of not working on your existing products versus developing this new one, etc etc. If you're only going to sell 2 or 3 then its just not worth the effort. Quote
GarethFlatlands Posted September 12, 2011 Posted September 12, 2011 The prototype surely just needs sketching out, breadboarding and tweaking? Even with the specialist parts and custom circuit boards it presumably needs, unlike a fuzz where a handful of components and some perf/stripboard can build you a circuit, 20 grand seems like a lot. But then I'm not a businessman. Maybe Devi Ever needs to hit Dragons Den. Quote
Wooks79 Posted September 12, 2011 Posted September 12, 2011 I would say if nothing else, Kickstarter is going to be useful if you did put an extravagant start up cost, purely to gauge honest take up of the product, prior to putting your own time and money into R&D, rather than 200 forum posts saying they would buy one, and then when it comes to it, not coughing up the cash? I dunno, but maybe the $20k target is deliberately high, maybe not aiming to actually be hit, or if it does its a nice surprise? Does the project starter receive the pledgers details? If so, maybe when it doesn't hit the target, which at this stage it wont, pledgers may get an email to say it might still go ahead, who knows... At this stage, even though I'm behind it 100% without it and have already pledged, I'm sure a demo of a prototype would have really have helped the project take off. Quote
phil.i.stein Posted September 21, 2011 Author Posted September 21, 2011 gutted it didn't happen, but according to the facebook page, she's going to try it again in the near future, with a prototype and more info. more time to save up ! i'll update this thread when something happens. Quote
