ahpook Posted September 11, 2011 Posted September 11, 2011 i've got the distinct feeling that my musicman sabre is one of the slimmer neck models - the width at the nut is a hair under 40mm anyone know for sure what counted as 'slim' ? Quote
stingrayPete1977 Posted September 11, 2011 Posted September 11, 2011 Early Sabre necks are the same as Stingray necks (my pre EB is 41.5mm) the only difference is the logo which also renders the stories about unstable sabre necks a myth too. Quote
ahpook Posted September 11, 2011 Author Posted September 11, 2011 mine's 1979/80, so that would make sense - thanks. Quote
stingrayPete1977 Posted September 11, 2011 Posted September 11, 2011 Im not sure how exact the nut widths from bass to bass are either are you? Quote

stingrayPete1977 Posted September 11, 2011 Posted September 11, 2011 (edited) Yes the Sterlings are like a Jazz nut width and they make the Slo neck special which is a Stingray with a Sterling neck. I'm not sure what later Sabres are like compared to our pre EB nuts. Edited September 11, 2011 by stingrayPete1977 Quote
