Mmm..interesting. For a "custom shop" jazz with its corresponding price tag Id say for my money that one has..... issues?

Firstly that low E looks way off the finger board edge and the pickguard looks nothing like an original.

I remember when I tried my Road Worn there was a CS next to it and it honestly felt quite a bit heavier than the RW.

I know I keep going on about the RW series but mine is an exceptional bass, and Ive tried a few over the years. StilI I can understand why the CS shops models appeal.

The low E is where I personally placed it using the grooves in the bridge saddle - yeah and the pick guard is nowhere like the old vintage stuff. But this is a great bass and no issues as far as I'm concerned. Obviously, you like your RW and it's a great thing that you have found the bass that suits you

A lot of the CS stuff is beautiful.

I just wish someone, somewhere, would start making tort like they used to way back when. The new stuff jars my anorak a little bit.

I know its a bit OT but this lot make really good repro celluloid guards (I have one on my 63P) http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/62-64-Fender-Jazz-pickguard-celluloid-Nitrate-/200635187569?pt=Guitar_Accessories&hash=item2eb6ca0171

It's close! The one on the link is just too... 'focussed' for my taste.

Thinking back this is probably part of the reason I couldn't stick with my otherwise lovely Tony Franklinses.

Original tort is a beautiful (and combustible) thing...

My God, I'm shallow. :)

A hundred quid???? I s'pose that's actually not too bad considering the asking price of an original http://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?_nkw=fender+jazz+pickguard&_sacat=0&_sop=16&_dmpt=UK_Guitar_Accessories&_odkw=fender+pickguard&_osacat=0&_trksid=p3286.c0.m270.l1313

Some tips on a US retailer who's willing to ship to Europe? Won't the price be the same shippingcost, taxes etc included?
Most dealership contracts prohibit international sales on new product. This is to protect the international distributors. For instance, all US EBMM dealers have signed a contract that prohibits them from selling new basses to the UK. The UK dealership network served by Strings and Things, the distributor in the UK, are the only ones who are allowed to sell new instruments here.
