After retiring from bass playing in the summer I answered an ad in Gumtree as i was bored and they were local . I passed the audition last night ! Got a small gig in 2 weeks time. Given my past experience I'm sure this will all go pear shaped in a few months

Still at least I'm pleased with myself today !

Don't worry about it going pear shaped, just get yourself in there and blow them away some more .
Even if it doesn't work out, it's far easier to get a slot in a band if you are already playing than it is if you aren't!
