Wayne Firefly
My Gibson Thunderbird makes a weird farty, "sounds like the speaker has gone" distorted type noise when plugged in. Its NOT the amp, speaker or lead as I've tried various different basses and all that and eliminated any other variables. Its the bass. Now, I've been told its probably a dry joint or it may need a new jack... Should I just replace the whole circuit with decent bits (axesrus.com) you know, CTS, Switchcraft, Sprague, decent wire etc. etc. or is it more simple ?? Or is it the pickups ?? They both meg out fine on the meter. Im nearly at getting a replacement circuit (not that that's a problem) so any advice would be good right now !!!! Cheers W. Ou7shined
I thought they all made weird farty sounds. Seriously though, if you think it's just a dry joint, just go around each joint and re-heat it with your iron. Is it active? If so hows the battery?
