Cotsey
I recently purchased a fantastic solo bass album by a relatively unknown bassist from UK - Andy Saxton He merges a lot of music styles on this album and the bass always manages to be the main focal point Check his playing out - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sAmX3yDkx2M Solo album preview - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9CnC9d83boE Some great transitions between tapping/ slapping / strumming

I still don't believe there's any such animal as a Great Solo Bass Album though The nearest you'll ever get is instrumental dub.

blamelouis
Great technique but as entertaining as a dripping tap. And the guy can play but... Great music is about interaction , even Michael Manring who i love , sounds ten times better with other musicians. Just playing devils avacado. retrohelix
Brilliant bassist and music IMO. Lots of technical stuff, but I find it to be more musical than gratuitous, which is quite a hard thing to accomplish...
paul_5
it's all true - it's not just technique over taste, some great music too. Salutes to Andy!

I`m of the opinion that you may as well have a Great Solo Snare Drum Album,it`s just as valid and it`ll probably sound as musical. Sorry Capt Bass, just my opinion.
