Has anyone any knowledge of what difference a John East Preamp will make to a Lakland DJ4. I'm thinking about the upgrade. Many thanks.

I have used a J-Retro in a jazz and it's like day and night. It's still a Jazz, but HUGE.

I installed a DJ-Retro in haimesy's Lakland not long ago. Search for him in the forum and ask him about it. The bass sounded good before, but it really came alive with the preamp. He still sends me mesages from time to time saying how much he loves it... so I guess he agrees :)

I have one in a marcus miller jazz and I can tell you ..... it's awesome. So versatile, delivers a huge array of top class sounds. Well well worth the money, you won't be sorry.

You're a gentleman Nige. If I needed icing on the cake then you have just provided it. I've saved the clips to my favourites for reference. Many Thanks! BTW, nice playing.
