catmanhog
Hello all, I have inherited an older style Ashdown 180 EB and the pots are crackling. A friend suggested i get in with some servisol and having remoed the amp from the cabinet, i am just wondering how to remove the PCB so i can get at the pots - may be elementary to most of you out there but i have led a charmed and sheltered life! Any help would be most appreciated.
Mr. Foxen
Don't think you need to remove the PCB, should be able to get at the slots in the pots using the plastic tube thing that comes with the servisol.

flyfisher
I'm not familiar with the amp in question but these things are not usually assembled with anything more exotic than nuts, bolts and screws. If you're trying to completely remove a PCB then you'll probably have to remove some inter-board connecting cables, though even that may not be necessary if they are long enough. Just be careful, don't force anything and take it slowly. If you've never tried such things before, taking photos of each stage of disassembly can be useful when trying to remember how it all goes back together. icastle
If you can't get to the pot slot directly then try turning the amp upside down and let gravity trickle the switch cleaner in. Don't forget though - mind your eyes as you peer up!!!
