Clarky
Hope you find a buyer Andy but I can tell you there's not a lot of fretless Wal love right now - 9 months ago I couldn't get hold of one for love nor money (well top dollar only ) Anyways best of luck, its a stunning looking beast

wombatboter
Looks like the dots along the side of the neck seem to be between the lines instead of on them...You don't find that too often... Nice bass..
phsycoandy
They are between the lines.

[/quote] I didn't realise that - thanks for the clarification. No real surprise when you think about it, I suppose. Being handmade it would have been as easy to do it either way and I'd think players coming to fretless from fretted basses might have felt more comfortable with dots in what they might have thought of as the 'normal' (i.e. between the lines) position. Thanks.
Clarky
My fretless Wal is unlined and has the dots at the fret positions - it was normal I believed for lined fretless Wals to have the dots in the between-frets positions. Hence this isn't a pointer to this instrument having been de-fretted in my view.

supabock
My lined fretless MKII has dots at the fret marker positions.... I should edit this by saying that the dot markers are not on the fingerboard, but on the top of the neck as you look down onto it.... phsycoandy
This has not been de-fretted according to the seller.

My Pro also has it like that and I have seen a few others with the dots like that too. But they are just more rare.
