Don't know if anyone else has highlighted this but, if I try to send a PM on my iPad, the message box pops up but is cut off on the top left hand side ... so you cannot click in it or type in it

iPad support due in recently released patch - should be installed in the near future.

I get the same thing as you only sometimes it does work..... most of the time it doesn't.
I tried replying to your post last night but it wouldn't even let me use the quote function. :)

Quite frankly this new forum is totally broke for certain browsers, IE8, and Opera Mobile are the ones I use and both aren't fully compatible. Which has pushed me to other bass forums for my bass chatting fix.

I have to say, one month in and I really miss the old forum it was faster and everything worked. :)

Try it again Walman but with Firefox or something, it should work.

Another bug report : ieSpell doesn't work any more if there are graphics smileys in the post.

At home I use Chrome - no problems as described;
At work I use IE 7 - no problems as described now (although the forum did not display properly until Ben ironed a few things out 2 weeks ago)
On mobile I use Opera and Safari - both again no problems as described.

It's very hard for me to fix something from my connections/browsers which all work fine for me :)

If I could re-create the problem then I could try and trouble-shoot it.

The URL I have been using is the one YT gives me when I click on Share. Is that not what you get when you do the same, or how do you get at the "watch" URL?

I am using Firefox, though it may have got up to the latest version so perhaps there is something incompatible there.

The song "Unconditional Love" is a cover of a Norwegian band called Street Legal. Their FB describes them as "Lizzy meet Whitesnake in a dark alley" We actually ended up covering a couple of theirs along with ripping off their cover of Maniac

Just copy the one out of the address bar - that's the usual one. i don't know what the logic is with the 'share' URL...

I think it's shortened for Twitter word limits. I always just use the one in the address bar.

Could it be a Win7 64bit thing?

Out of interest, what specific issues are you having on IE8?
Haha where do you want me to start? :)
(most of my issues have been mentioned throughout this thread)

I found IE8 on an old PC cover disc and installed it earlier this evening. For the last 2 hours I've gone through every page of this thread (and other threads) trying to re-create reported problems with my brand new install of IE8.

I just can't 'cause' the faults you (and others) are reporting - everything works how I expect it to work.

Sorry - I really wish I could help!

Weird. I have 2 PC's running win7 64bit + IE8 (one is a laptop the other a overly spec'd tower) and they both display the same issues regarding graphic anomalies and both find the site tediously slow to load and interact with while all other sites remain normal. I posted a thread (with my laptop) on here the other day featuring a very small bass being played on youtube. I started by simply posting the url (which has worked for me in the past) but it failed. I then spent about 15 minutes trying to figure out all the different permutations of video posting without success and gave up and just posted the url again... all the forum did was display the url. here -> http://basschat.co.u...48#entry1411648

On my Android phone using Opera (because the native browser will not allow any interaction other than viewing the site) I experience loss of posts or PM's when I click the post/send button and the browser defaults to the index page.

If it is only this site which you have problems with, it may be because you have information from this site stored on your PC which is either incorrect or corrupted?

Apologies if this is egg-sucking time, but things that I have done to my PC include:

Log off Basschat - clear all cookies, and clear all your various caches (both browser and Windows 7) - http://www.addictivetips.com/windows-tips/clear-windows-7-cache/ - Re-start your PC and log back into Basschat

Also - make sure your whole system is running the latest versions of everything -

http://www.belarc.com/free_download.html

http://java.com/en/download/installed.jsp

http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/155/tn_15507.html

Make sure you don't have a browser hijacker/malware etc - http://housecall.trendmicro.com/uk/

Hope something here may help?

Thanks for taking the time to reply but I'm a computer (ex)speed-freak nerd ... with ocd. :) I got into the habit of running minimal systems at max efficiency many years ago... I flush my unwanted cookies a few times a day, my programs and drivers are all up to date (automatically checked daily) the system is zipped up tighter than a gnat's and I have no malware, bloatware or crapware.... I remove all Add-ons and "Accelerators", I run only necessary extensions and I feckin hate toolbars.

Here's how the top of the page looks to me (full-screen) in IE8....

No, I haven't noticed any problems with other sites..... well actually Photobucket is right pain in the derriere... but then it always has been.

It's a mystery. Roll on the updates. :)

Not having a good experience with this forum at the moment... need to press the "back" button 2-3 times to get out of a page and the behaviour of arrow keys etc in edit is bizarre to say the least. Just put in a one line post and the laptop nearly had to have a flying lesson...

Is it just me? New "vanilla" W7 + IE9 installion...
