daz Posted September 18, 2011 Posted September 18, 2011 (edited) ...Red Indians ? like on the old Westerns ? Is it just the drumming, or is it a particular scale from that sort of music ? ( like the Arabic scale can be used to easily bring that area of the world and its people to mind) I dont suppose Native American music scale exsists ? (yes i did actually Google it. It was rather vague) Edited September 18, 2011 by daz Quote
daz Posted September 20, 2011 Author Posted September 20, 2011 (edited) Ah come on. One of you clever musical buggers must know the answer to it ? Edited September 20, 2011 by daz Quote
Guest bassman7755 Posted September 20, 2011 Posted September 20, 2011 Dont think theres anything out of the ordinary in terms of harmony/scales - its probably just the drums. Quote
daz Posted September 20, 2011 Author Posted September 20, 2011 but theres drums in everything ? Quote
Doddy Posted September 20, 2011 Posted September 20, 2011 It's got a kind of tribal tom thing going on,so it's probably that more than anything harmonically. Quote
daz Posted September 20, 2011 Author Posted September 20, 2011 (edited) Possibly related more to Western movies and TV than actual american indian music i suppose. There does seem to be some sort of scale, but its all flute related Not than im expecting one in bass clef, mind you Edited September 22, 2011 by daz Quote
Guest bassman7755 Posted September 21, 2011 Posted September 21, 2011 Theres really nothing out of the ordinary going on, a tad of "bluesy" major/minor ambiguity is about as exotic as it gets. Whatever it is that is evoking these feelings in you is nothing to do with the actual notes played as far as I can tell. Quote
ahpook Posted September 21, 2011 Posted September 21, 2011 i'd say it's the toms and the twangy single-note guitar Quote
