geoffbyrne Posted September 18, 2011 Posted September 18, 2011 Is it just me, or is the new site taking quite a long time to respond? Maybe there's a bit of fine tuning to be done, but in my case it's taking a long time to load anything in comparison to the other sites I use. G. Quote
wateroftyne Posted September 18, 2011 Posted September 18, 2011 Yeah.. It's sluggish for me too. Quote
Blademan_98 Posted September 18, 2011 Posted September 18, 2011 (edited) My first few post did seem slow. I've just logged back on to see if it's picked up Edit: that worked quite quickly! Edited September 18, 2011 by Blademan_98 Quote
Machines Posted September 18, 2011 Posted September 18, 2011 *testing* Took about 3 seconds to submit and appear on the thread.. As with most software upgrades, a newer version generally has more content and does more in the background than the old version did. This will lead to a slight slight increase in processing time in general. Quote
geoffbyrne Posted September 18, 2011 Author Posted September 18, 2011 Just got a drop-out - 502 - Bad Gateway Error Quote
Bassman Sam Posted September 18, 2011 Posted September 18, 2011 How come Happy Jack doesn't dance anymore? Quote
crez5150 Posted September 18, 2011 Posted September 18, 2011 At last............... 18:00 on Sunday and Basschat is back up for me..... that was a long wait... lovin the new vibe. Quote
KiOgon Posted September 18, 2011 Posted September 18, 2011 Just had this twice: SQL Error An error occured with the SQL server: This is not a problem with IP.Board but rather with your SQL server. Please contact your host and copy the message shown above. What's all that about? Cheerz, John Quote
KiOgon Posted September 18, 2011 Posted September 18, 2011 Oh yes another thing! When I tried 'Fast Reply' to a PM - typed my response & saw a 'Post' button, which I hit - then the message I had written disappeared, did not send & left me with a blank reply box. Thinking about it after - surely it should have been a 'Send' button - not a Post? Cheerz, John Quote
daz Posted September 19, 2011 Posted September 19, 2011 It seems the 'deeper' i go into the site the slower it gets. ie: forum /sub forum /sub sub forum /topic/page 2. etc etc Quote
Lozz196 Posted September 19, 2011 Posted September 19, 2011 Yep, has been very slow for me too. Quote
obbm Posted September 19, 2011 Posted September 19, 2011 (edited) I'm finding that it takes in excess of 20 seconds to load a thread or refresh a page. Not very good at all. Edit: Other tabs on other sites are not a problem, just BC. Edited September 19, 2011 by obbm Quote
Delberthot Posted September 19, 2011 Posted September 19, 2011 I've been on downforeveryoneorjustme.com this morning and he sites been showing as being down. Other times its been taking ages to change pages when I click on a link to go to a thread or subforum. I've had another tab open at the same time on another website and its been working quickly Quote
Delberthot Posted September 19, 2011 Posted September 19, 2011 that last post took 44 seconds to load from hitting the post button to it actually appearing Quote
geoffbyrne Posted September 19, 2011 Author Posted September 19, 2011 (edited) 35 secs for this on, then others open instantly. (need a Shrug emoticon). Still can't see any avatars but my own. G. Edited September 19, 2011 by geoffbyrne Quote
Hamster Posted September 19, 2011 Posted September 19, 2011 If members can read this forum, then your ISP should have renewed their DNS. I also flushed my DNS which seemed to help a little - On XP - Start - Run - cmd - ipconfig /flushdns Quote
bigjohn Posted September 19, 2011 Posted September 19, 2011 (edited) Yeah, flushing DNS cache does help. Still slow though. Very slow. Here's a trace route I did. droppings at Redbus. Edited September 19, 2011 by bigjohn Quote
obbm Posted September 19, 2011 Posted September 19, 2011 Tried flushing still very very slow, even slower than dial-up.. How do you flush in Win 7? Quote
clarkpegasus4001 Posted September 19, 2011 Posted September 19, 2011 It takes an age to look at anything at the moment, even trying to get on this thread to tell you about it took an age! I guess these problems will be sorted in due course. Quote

MB1 Posted September 19, 2011 Posted September 19, 2011 MB1. I feel the need for speed! My laptops been hijacked by Captain Slow! Quote
I don't think it's entirely DB related. But yeah, flushing probably won't help. Caches are probably caught up now. @obbm, flushing in Win 7 is the same as in XP - through the command promt (ipconfig /flushdns) Quote
Happy Jack Posted September 19, 2011 Posted September 19, 2011 If there's a blockage and you keep flushing, will you end up with sewage all over the floor? Quote
