rubis
I am contemplating a self build cab and have a couple of 10" Celestions to play with......question is would a tweeter be any real use. If it turns out ok I may well build a 1x15" to add on, and it will be used with a Trace AH200. Edited September 18, 2011 by rubis
winterfire666
it depends what kind of sound you like. you could always build it without one add one later if you think you need a bit of sparkle (make sure you leave enough space) if you add one though make sure you have a decent quality crossover and level control is a must. JTUK
Depends on your tastes. I wouldn't have a cab without one myself..... must be attenuable though as the cheaper horns can be a lot of hiss. If you go upto ..for example...12 khz plus...hiss will be in there anyway so being able to attenuate might help.
Lozz196
For me, I`m not keen on them, and in general turn them down/off if any cab I use has them. As such, when I bought my Barefaced Midget, I went for the tweeter-less model. Saying that, they are a useful tool for certain types of music, so it`s dependent on the type of music you`re likely to be playing - and possibly playing in the future. I think on a self-build, put one in, you can always switch it off if you want, but good to have for the fexibility.
aldude
I should add that I think the piezo tweeters on smaller Markbass cabs are horrible! Proper ones all the way.
