I think it depends on why you've been booked.

If it's as a result of some other band/gig etc. then use whatever bass you were using for that.

If it's just because you play bass, are available and at the right price then you'll probably need to take both.

I've booked by the chap who is the MD of the session, so he knows what he's getting. I'll be taking all three, just in case...

Most X 'factors' are either tied up so tight, it is strictly top $ or they have been let go
so the artist is in self funding territory, with what ever budget the user can put up.
