RandomBass
Hi all Has anyone taken the plunge and used their MAG or ABM head at less than the recommended min of 4 ohms? I currently have two 8 ohm cabs but am pondering using an 8 and a 4 together. Just curious really... Cheers Geoff
Delberthot
surprised no one has commented on this yet. If you want to turn your amp into a smoke machine then by all means try it. It might be able to cope but most likely will not. I haven't heard anything about this but there are a couple of amps that say minimum 4ohms but can actually run at 2 but I wouldn't fancy trying it whith these. Ashdown Engineering
We say 4 ohm minimum for a reason.... ;-)

Any experimental thoughts of combining 8 and 4 ohm cabs with my Ashdown Heads have been dispelled. And Mr Ashdown Engineering, I've been using my MAG600 head for a few years and never had a single problem from it - and it never fails to impress. My newly acquired ABM appears to be just as good so far. After a brief foray into the world of Ampeg, I'm sticking with what works for me. And I definitely don't want to turn either into a smoke machine lol. Cheers Geoff
