Apologies for the shameless link, but the Pics are so good ive used the original sale thread as I havent had a chance to take any of my own, however they will be up as soon as I can get some!

So Yes, I am the proud owner of this fantastic Vigier Passion III 5 String, and I can honestly say this is a cracking bass! As some of you may know I have been looking at a number of basses recently, and been close to purchasing on two occasions, but I had a bit of a run of bad luck with events taking away from my GAS fund - I must say a massive thanks to Ped for helping me out and doing me a deal enabling me to buy this!

So yes, I am the proud new owner, off to play it now so will be back online and with a full review once ive had a chance to give it a proper thrashing. It will also be at the next bash if anyone wants to give it a good play!

Cheers mate, she is a real stunner in the flesh and looks a little more "amber" in normal light, but whatever angle you look it still looks phenominal!

Sound wise, it is actually very versatile and the Pre amp is rather unique in that I've never had a bass with a frequency control and a cut/boost switch, and the tone control only affects the rear pickup - but this makes for some interesting results!

It is very "clanky" and if you dig in it produces a really nice growly tone, and the action is spot on - handy since the neck relief cannot be adjusted due to the carbon rods in the neck.

It has a pretty good tonal pallete, and it just feels so comfortable to play I couldnt put it down all day today whilst at home.

Seriously, if you can get to the bash, give it play, its one of the best buy's ive ever had!

Congratulations Luke! Look forward to seeing you at the Bash and to hearing the Vigier.... You might've just about stopped smiling by then :)

Same here Nick, will be good to catch up mate!

Ive been playing with sounds and managed to tame the treble on this beast now, so it gives a really nice bassy tone - it does a very close impersonation of a Stingray and a Precision sound too, which is nice as Ive always liked those sounds.

Its got a certain bounce to it when you slap it too, it just seems to react - and the fact that you can adjust the spring spacing at the bridge means anyone can adjust to suit.

Easily the most comfortable 5 string ive played, and ive played plenty. May even be doin a trade for a lovely Bacchus Jazz 5 soon too, so that will mean I will have all 5 string basses and no 4's, which makes more sense to me seeing as i only ever seem to play 5ers nowadays.

Really glad you are so happy with it Luke. It is a very special bass. It would have definitely been a keeper if I hadn't been spoilt by the slightly older 4 string.

The Benedetti pickups are just blinding, aren't they?! I remember fondly when you played my fretless through my Mesa stack a couple of bashes ago and just stroked the low D and the volume was just incredible as the output is really massive!

I am really glad she stayed in the family and went to such a good bloke. :0)

Cheers

Thanks for the kind words folks, once again thanks Ped for selling me such a wicked bass at such a great price!

Im looking forward to adding the finger puppet to the bass, hopefully it will improve my technique by endless amounts!

Ped, you really are spoiled with that CRACKING fretless and 4 string Vigier - i must admit, the fretless is so far my number one favourite out of all the fretless basses ive played.
