stoker Posted May 18, 2012 Posted May 18, 2012 I can't help but think that a classic tobacco sunburst would look good. Quote
Guest MoJo Posted May 19, 2012 Posted May 19, 2012
Emerald green.
Hmmmm .... hadn't considered a 'non-brown' stain. Emerald green sounds tasty Quote
Doctor J Posted May 19, 2012 Posted May 19, 2012 It would be superb with the maple and also work with b-w-b and your chrome hardware. Win win win. Quote
Guest MoJo Posted July 17, 2012 Posted July 17, 2012 Finished at last. Not perfect but loads better than when I received it. Plays like a dream. I absolutely love it Quote
Guest MoJo Posted July 19, 2012 Posted July 19, 2012 First chance to use her in anger since buying her tonight at rehearsal Quote
Guest MoJo Posted July 20, 2012 Posted July 20, 2012 The Ray sounded sublime through my live rig. It was the first bass (including my SR5) that has prompted a 'that sounds nice' response from another band member and the only bass (again including my SR5) that our vocalist, who is also a bassist, has asked 'to have a go on' Quote
Kees_SoS Posted September 4, 2012 Posted September 4, 2012 The things people do to perfectly good instruments... What colour did you choose in the end. Any pics?
Bought this bass from fellow Basschatter Chris (Me An My Bass). To his credit, when Chris was informed that the bass originally left the factory in a beautiful trans blue burst finish, he couldn't be more apologetic. A deal was struck and now the work of refinishing the bass begins. I'm hoping that, being that this was a trans finish bass, a nicely grained piece of wood lies beneath that awful paint job. If so, I may go for a natural finish....if not, who knows how it'll look when it's finished
Quote
Me And My Bass Posted September 9, 2012 Posted September 9, 2012 Just to clear up folks, l bought this bass from another basschatter in Ireland who had no idea it was refinished, like l did when it was sold on. Came to an agreement on price with Mojo after the refin issue came to light. I am glad it was turned out well for you Mojo and the classic sound won over for you. Chris Quote
