Cort RB4 Elrick 4 String. - Sold Pending The Usual

I have a very nice Cort RB4 Elrick 4 string for sale.

These are very impressive basses, designed by Rob Elrick & made in the same Cort factory as some of the Lakland Skylines - so no surprises that the build quality is extremely good.

The bass features a three piece maple neck with rosewood board, 5 bolt attachment to a 2 piece ash body with a flame maple top. Hardware is Hipshot, pickups are Bartolini MK1s with a Bart active circuit, controls are Vol (with push/pull for active / passive), Pan, Treble, Mid & Bass. The bass looks, sounds & plays like a quality instrument - I know Eubassix has compared the Cort version to the US version and was very impressed.

Condition wise the bass is very clean but not mint. A few impressions in the wood but, due to the natural satin finish, you'll need to get within a foot to spot these. Oh, a previous owner relocated the rear strap post so there's a hole from the original. Bass is strung with a new set of Chromes & comes with a gigbag.

I'd rather not ship the bass due to no hard case so collection or meet up within 50 miles of Teesside would be best. If that's a deal breaker I will try to find a suitable shipping carton & ship it providing you arrange the courier.

So how much for all this lovely bassness? Just [s]£295[/s] £250 !!!!- the hardware would probably cost close to that on its own! Not interested in any trades - thank you. Any questions, please PM me as I struggle to get on BC at the minute due to other commitments.

this is a total bargain!!.. i had the 5 string version and it was very very well made....dont know how they do it.. nice modern tone and sparkle when slapped... my pref would be Nordies with an Aguilar OBP3 upgrade but stock there great... the flame maple top alone is fantastic...

i played a gold series, and although the Barts were US the feel was the same....

you wont get better for this money.... if i had the spare scratch i would snap this up

Thanks for the kind words gents. It genuinely is one of those guitars you pick up & think "how can they possibly make these at this price?".

Found a clip of the 5 string version;

I like the neck, TRBboy. It's 1.6 inches at the nut, medium depth with a D profile & a modern, flat radius. It fills the hand nicely without being too clubby.

As for reviews there's a short one from an owner on TB, other than that though it seems to be Harmony Central (where every piece of equipment ever made is 10/10)

Thanks for that mate. I would love it, but my sensible side tells me it won't be as good as my Sandbergs and I'll end up selling it quite soon!

It does look lovely though, and it'll be an absolute bargain for someone!
