Ric 4001 c64, immaculate condition, bought new in May this year. £1450 ovno.

I really do not want to sell this as it's outstanding, but I'm still mostly playing the fretless 4003 and this bass is simply way too good to be lying around when I have better things to do with the money. Trade options on page 2

Chris

EDIT: I've just looked at the pics below and realised that it's pretty obvious I didn't clean the bass before taking them! Please trust me when I say that it is 100% mint

Ah, sad! I know what it's like though, my band is down to 2 members (and has therefore pretty much bitten the dust) and I'm wondering about the point of having a spare vintage Ric.

Why not post a URl linking to a web image of the same model/colour if you can't get pics up?
[/quote]

'Cos I've been playing it and I really hope no-one wants to buy it mate.

Just as you did for me, I feel it is my duty to discourage you from selling this wonderful bass, and also to draw attention to the deep regret and self-loathing you would no doubt experience if you did.

Thanks guys. Truth of the matter is that I get exactly the tone I'm after from my 4003 FL, the problem being that there's a few songs I'm playing that require slightly better intonation than I'm currently able to get on fretless. So, I bought the c64. I think the c64 has slightly better core tone (perhaps due to the horseshoe), and certainly the build is exceptional, but I just prefer the FL for gigging, and I suspect that a Precision with flats is always going to be my preference for recording, simply because it's such an easy combination to record (and of course when recording, a lot of things that the Ric can do live - things that a Precision perhaps can't do - can be done in the mix).

But, there's part of me that thinks that c64 is possibly just a little too special to give up on so quickly, despite the fact that I could really do with some spare cash to pay fro a few things I've bought recently! So, it is still for sale, but it might not be for much longer.

Re what it looks like, it looks like an immaculate c64 in Mapleglow :). PM for pics if you're serious.

OK, this is unfortunately, 100% definitely for sale. I've decided to stick with the 4003FL. This site still runs very slowly for me at present so I'm not going to post pics here. Here's the Ric page (remember mine's Mapleglow not Fireglow):

Here's a used one in Mapleglow at £500 more than I'm asking. Mine is 100% immaculate condition also.

Please PM for info/pics, UK only sale I'm afraid.

A couple of guys have asked about postage to Europe and I initially declined, this on the basis of a previous bad experience with a bass that took a VERY long time to arrive in France and gave myself and the buyer a few sleepless nights (it was uninsured). Having thought it over, I'm happy to post to Europe but it will have to be fully insured at the buyer's expense. Previous experience suggests that this is cheaper if the buyer arranges collection and delivery (courier fees in paid for in Europe seem generally lower than when paid for in the UK irrespective of collection/delivery address).

Lovely this Chris.....just wish I could afford it.

Thanks Mart, wish I could afford it also :)

Re trades, my hit list at present is

Good/high quality electric nylon string guitar, e.g., Ovation Country Artist
Decent quality resonator guitar
Decent quality pedal steel
Bass up to £500 of the sale price
High quality hifi/stereo amps/CD

Re the above I'd prefer PX with cash my way but that of course depends on what you've got!
