budget bassist Posted July 21, 2008 Posted July 21, 2008 (edited) Yeah that's what i was thinking, i might have a punt on the chaos 4 or 5 some time... looks like it could have some real growl with those dual MM buckers, though the lack of active circuitry on that one is a bit disappointing. EDIT: that chaos 4 does have active circuitry, but GAK have put it in the passive section (not the first time), sounds like a good deal for £170 Edited July 21, 2008 by budget bassist Quote

Traben bootzilla on GAK, enjoy
I paid 800 U.S. Dollars plus 100 U.S.D Shipping to the U.K. for a brand new Bootzilla Looks like it would have been a bargain if it had arrived Edited July 22, 2008 by BetaFunk Quote
BigRedX Posted July 21, 2008 Posted July 21, 2008 There was a Bootzilla Traben on ebay in the US a couple of weeks ago with the head broken completely off... I wonder how that happened? Mine has a pretty chunky volute at the neck/head join. Quote

That's the ticket Quote
markytbass Posted July 21, 2008 Posted July 21, 2008 Took a stroll into town today and they had 2 in Darlington Music Center. Idin't check the prices though, oh well I'll just have to go back in tomorrow Quote
deezbar Posted August 16, 2008 Posted August 16, 2008
To be honest they hardly have any UK market at all, I'm not aware of any UK dealer either .
P.M.T in birmingham are dealers of these basses! D Quote
Machines Posted August 16, 2008 Posted August 16, 2008 I tried a couple in the aforementioned PMT. Will get one for review in the next week or 2 - hopefully. Quote
WHUFC BASS Posted January 3, 2009 Posted January 3, 2009 Check out the clips on YouTube of Traben basses. They seem to have a massive sound indeed - damn! I was all set to get myself an Ibanez Sr505 - now this lot come along!!. Quote
neepheid Posted January 3, 2009 Posted January 3, 2009 That Chaos looks like a serious amount of bass for the money and the only one with a normal looking bridge (sorry, I don't like those garish, showy types). Can anyone tell me what the 4 string is like (width at nut/heel, string spacing at bridge, neck profile etc.)? Quote
GreeneKing Posted January 3, 2009 Posted January 3, 2009 They had a couple in the BassMerchant in Colchester. One, a NT looked particularly nice and the price was really good too. Quote
Eight Posted March 23, 2009 Posted March 23, 2009 Can anyone say how the tone compares to other basses? I'm in the market for a new bass (for metal) and want something with a fairly thick, scary low end (as opposed to too punchy a sound). I've literally just discovered a place near me stocks Trabens and so this could be an option. Quote

I worked through about 15 basses (I was mainly look at whether I could find anything half-decent and cheap) but was intrigued enough by the Traben Neo they had in to give it a quick spin. My impression was that the tone was clear and bright, the bass felt responsive and the sustain was good. It wasn't quite what I was looking for but I think they are definitely worth trying if you have a supplier near you (although I didn't really get a "thick, scary low-end" vibe off the instrument. Eight Posted March 23, 2009 Posted March 23, 2009 Cheers Wulf, That's great info. Will probably still have a go next time I'm passing, but won't make a special trip as it doesn't sound like they're quite what I'm after. Quote
neepheid Posted March 23, 2009 Posted March 23, 2009 Someone from Traben got back to me regarding my query about the Chaos and the nut width is 41.275mm, which makes it more P than J. That snippet of info just made it more suitable for me, good times. Quote
jackyc123 Posted September 27, 2010 Posted September 27, 2010 Theres a dealer in Leeds that sells traben neo basses for around £300 ish and delivers too, they should come up if you search them on ebay! Quote
