the boy Posted September 27, 2011 Posted September 27, 2011 Hi guys I've been offered a starcaster jazz bass are they any good. Are they fenders or are they more like squiers. Quote
icastle Posted September 27, 2011 Posted September 27, 2011 The Starcaster by Fender range is at the bottom of the pile beneath the Squire stuff. Not tried one but I wouldn't get too excited about them - they're generally sold as part of a beginners kit for about £200, Quote
the boy Posted September 27, 2011 Author Posted September 27, 2011 Cheers for reply it's going for £80 so I may have a look. Quote
dlloyd Posted September 27, 2011 Posted September 27, 2011 I've tried one out in Costco of all places. I wouldn't give you £10 it. Quote
risingson Posted September 28, 2011 Posted September 28, 2011 Haven't played the bass but have played their Strat equivalent like dlloyd in Costco. It was piss poor, you'd be better off looking for something else as I think the quality of these particular instruments is actually an insult to even a novice. Quote
the boy Posted September 28, 2011 Author Posted September 28, 2011 That bad? Wow thanks for the advice. Quote
risingson Posted September 28, 2011 Posted September 28, 2011 Yes, I'm afraid so. It's Fender moving into every sector of the market they can with no regard for the quality of their product. Quote
hillbilly deluxe Posted September 28, 2011 Posted September 28, 2011 I think they sell them in toysrus,im sure i saw some last xmas. Quote

I've never seen anything as bad that was being sold new. And I'm including the plastic ukulele I bought from the 99p store. Go back to the cheeky devil who offered you it and set fire to his trousers. Quote
