skychaserhigh Posted September 28, 2011 Posted September 28, 2011 I remember seeing him live in 1985. When he did his solo it was the first time I had heard a bass like that at a live gig. He played with awesome power and attitude , very inspiring to me at that time. Quote

Although he died 9 years before i was born, so i never got the chance to see him, he's still one of, if not my biggest influence, and the reason i started playing bass. R.I.P. Clifford Lee Burton. Cliff was one of the reasons I took up bass and later went off kilter exploring the work of Bach and others. Regardless of what people think about his playing, he was a hugely influential bassist and highly creative at a time when the vast majority of metal bass players were content to just chug along in the background.
