wateroftyne
Nice! The front has faded just like my P - all the red has gone.
wesfinn
that is lovely!
Happy Jack
Eye of the beholder, and all that. Replaced fingerboard and wiring, so a long way from "all-original", and looks like it's been chucked around a few rehearsal studios by someone wearing gloves made of sandpaper. I grant you that's all probably reflected in the price, but even so ... Different strokes for different folks.
BassBod
That price makes my lovely mojo'd 1973 fretless J neck (incl tuners) looks like a real bargain....in a for sale section near you now....but back a few pages, probably. Some of the wear on the rear looks natural but some of the chips and knocks on the front and edges look like they were done yesterday by Mr. Black and Mrs. Decker. The neck is gorgeous but the body looks like a p1ss poor relic job to me.
Ou7shined
We've certainly seen far worse jobs.
Happy Jack
I never spotted the 'all original' claim. That's a bit cheeky.
Sorry Michael - didn't mean to imply that the vendor claimed it as "all original". He doesn't. I meant that the bass is far enough from "all original" that it will surely be of little/no interest to any serious collector.

I didn't read the ad properly - I thought they were advertising it as all-original... hence my 'That's a bit cheeky' comment. I take it all back. BassBod
Its typical seller/dealer talk such as ....."all original, except for".....meaning significant elements aren't. Emphasis remains strongly on the original, whilst also acknowledging the later modifications. No biggie
