bass to pa di

hi guys bit of a newbie here, would i be correct in assuming if i wanted to plug my bass/amp direct to the pa i could do it via one of these?

Yes, it would work. Pedal between bass and amp, use the eq on the pedal for your sound, using the amp in a way as just a power amp. This way you can DI to the desk, and still have "your" sound through the pa and your amp. I`ve got one of these, for those in case I have a problem with my amp at a gig moments. I`ve also recorded with it, and the sound is a lot better than the price and the reputation of the brand would suggest.
