Born 2B Mild
There are a few free places available to attend this event that Bass Gear has just organised as a result of us taking on the UK sales for Ritter Instruments of Germany. It's not a sales show ...they don't make many! Just an interesting insight in to the world of a very much talked about luthier and to see his creations being used. Just email to ask to be put on the list. Jens is very good humoured and witty and speaks great English. He'll be bringing a few tasty instruments along and talking about Ritter basses and how they are made and who uses them, plus they'll be some live grooves with some Ritter basses on stage with Bass Gear's Chief Test Pilot, Tom Kent and his accompanying musicians. 7pm to 9pm at London's Institute of Contemporary Music Performance on Thursday 3rd November. charic
Shame it's in London, I work during the week and there's no way I'd be able to make it. Always though his work was stunning
Chris2112
That sounds like a great evening out!
xgsjx
I'd love to go but it's a bit of a trek from up here & I'd need to be back for work the following morning if I (miraculously) made it. Ask him if he fancies doing one up in this neck of the woods?
molan
Just thought I'd check if anyone is going to this? I'll definitely be there, really looking forward to seeing some of Jens' creations! I've seen him talk before (with Joey Lauricella, Jimmy Coppolo and Mike Tobias) and he was really good at explaining his design ethics and build methods etc.
BigRedX
I aim to be there.
Born 2B Mild
Just wanted to say thanks to all who have seen this thread and been in touch.about coming. There's a handful of seats still spare in case anyone wants to come (see original post). Cheers, Phil
yorks5stringer
Will he be bringing any Ritter Sport bars?
molan
Spoke to Phil at BassGear earlier this evening and there are still some tickets going for this. Given that they are free and it's very rare to get a builder with the class of Jens Ritter over here in London it would be good to see some more BC'ers coming out for the evening
Born 2B Mild
All is looking good. Pleased to see a Top Name bass player has requested to attend. Should be able to seat a few more though, so do let me know quick!
Kiwi
He's a bit like a master chef of luthiers to me. Always uses the best ingredients and pushes the boundaries a little.
charic
A little? I still need to see some of his finishes in the flesh but from the photo's they seem pretty much second to none. If I win the euro I'll commission some doors for my kitchen from him
