Low End Bee Posted October 20, 2011 Posted October 20, 2011 Can somebody give me a brief run down on what Soundcloud is? Genuine question. It's passed me by. Do I need to be doing stuff on it. Do the kids dig it, etc. Quote
Earbrass Posted October 20, 2011 Posted October 20, 2011 It's just a site that hosts audio - a bit like flickr does for photos. There's some nice features like being able to leave comments on people's tracks, joining groups etc tacked on. Quote

Skol303 Posted October 20, 2011 Posted October 20, 2011
Hell yea, Soundcloud is the place for finding interesting music rather than the type of dross that's in the charts (you know the stuff, anything remotely related to X-Factor and the like). I'll hear a track on there that will spark something in me and will inspire me to record something in a similar vein. For example, Skol's remix of Haitian Fight Song (http://soundcloud.co...ht-song-youtube) inspired this: http://soundcloud.co...and-smokey-club. Thanks for the sticky by the way
Ha ha! Cheers Mornats... that could well be the first time my music has ever inspired anything other than a powercut! Nice track you've done there, btw. And I should also pass on thanks for setting up this thread in the first place. Good job mate; you seem to have started something positive here! Quote
mildmanofrock Posted October 20, 2011 Posted October 20, 2011 I'm amazed by the talent. Astonishing and a bit scary. Quote
xgsjx Posted October 28, 2011 Posted October 28, 2011 Just dropped a track in under BassG (or Bassgsj). I've posted it before on BC, but thought I'd share. Quote

WalMan Posted November 11, 2011 Posted November 11, 2011 Just added the result of a couple of nights noodling - well I started at the weekend, then created a new edit in Tracktion. There is/was a drum track of sorts (mainly for timing), and earlier edits had synth pads and some acoustic guitar, but three tracks of bass and a smidge of reverb seems adequate Wal's Waltz Quote
urb Posted November 13, 2011 Posted November 13, 2011 I just added a new demo tune to my page - something I wrote today http://soundcloud.com/munkio/something-i-said Hope you like it - very much raw and a work in progress - sounds promising I think... (hope so) Quote

WalMan Posted November 19, 2011 Posted November 19, 2011 Just added an assortment of bits, mostly stuff put together in recent years that all need something in the way of words & a vocal. Noise Annoys may be here previously along with the selection of guitar breaks for it http://soundcloud.com/aka_walman Quote

Like I said before at one point it had a drum track - mainly put there for a bit of feel to work to - and acoustic guitar & keys, but I actually preferred it stripped back to three tracks of bass Edited November 20, 2011 by WalMan Quote
BottomE Posted November 22, 2011 Posted November 22, 2011 Hi guys heres me attacking my Hamer Cruise bass from all angles with total nonsense http://soundcloud.com/bottome/tune-88 Quote
Skol303 Posted November 27, 2011 Posted November 27, 2011 New track just added to the Basschat group on SoundCloud: http://soundcloud.com/skollob/squeeze ... no 'real' bass involved, but a shedload of the synthetic variety! Some of you might like it; many will likely loathe it God only knows what I was thinking with this one. It's basically a bunch of half-baked ideas all mashed together with some odd YouTube samples thrown in. Mixed on headphones late at night, so "watch yer bass bins" as the saying goes - as the low frequencies may well be fierce. Or not. I have no real way of telling. Avoid if you're a fan of laid-back blues and folk. Give it a whirl if you like drum'n'bass, dubstep and odd electronic stuff. Quote
leewithabass Posted November 28, 2011 Posted November 28, 2011 (edited) I usually partake in a bit of Soundcloud via: http://soundcloud.com/iwanttobealee A big mix of band music and then other stuff too... -Lee Edited November 28, 2011 by leewithabass Quote
