jaybyname
Hi guys, quick question. Managed to pick up a full set of strings for my 7 string bass and noticed the high F looks like a chesse wire. Is this the norm? Wondered if I collected the wrong one. I assumed it would hav a little winding around the core. New to the 7 string so not sure what to expect. I bought rotsounds RS666LD .130 - .35 for a 6 string then an addition .20 gauge f string. Have I done right here?
jaybyname
And in general. Whats an ideal string gauge set up for a 7 string?
Delberthot
I think that a lot of high Cs look like cheesewire. Just had a look at the conklin website and their Cs are 0.025 which is much too thin in my opinion and their F is 0.018. What you have is probably the thickest F you could get away with
jaybyname
Managed to locate a .25 rotosound to match the RS6666LD set I have. Quite a thick gauge set which Im happy with. I like bass strings to windings on them. This .20 I was supplied looks like fuse wire. Thats guitarist territory!
