xilddx Posted October 1, 2011 Posted October 1, 2011 This is so me Got this today of another BC member. I gave it a thorough clean and lemon oil. Put a brass JAN III on, and strung it with DR Black Beauties. This thing is a beast! Fabulous tones! It's got a dodgy barrel jack though, it cuts out if you wobble the jack lead. I doubt it will be ready for Kit's EP launch which is a real shame. Never mind. It has an ebony fingerboard which I love, I can't stand the look of wenge boards. I think the contrast of the ovangkol and ebony with the chrome is just wonderful, the organic against the mechanic. Superb! gary mac Posted October 1, 2011 Posted October 1, 2011 Wow. What an instrument, super shiney. Isn't it ironic Nige, you love a modern space age looking bass but Mr Crabtree style fishing tackle Quote

That is SO you Nige
It is rather Clarky, I can't tell you how happy I am to have gone back to Warwicks. As soon as I played it it felt so familiar and comfy, I adore it! Quote
lemmywinks Posted October 1, 2011 Posted October 1, 2011
predator bass.
T1000 surely? It's not to my taste but you just can't ignore the quality of that finish, it looks amazing. Quote
xilddx Posted October 1, 2011 Author Posted October 1, 2011 It's definitely a T1000, my pics are sh*t, it looks fabulous in the fake flesh, as it were Quote

12stringbassist Posted October 2, 2011 Posted October 2, 2011 I have to agree on the utter fabulousness of these basses. One of my top three.. Quote
Machines Posted October 2, 2011 Posted October 2, 2011 Love the look of it, but the real problem for me - fingerprints ! I hate shiny surfaces that aren't spotless and I think it'd be nigh on impossible to keep clean without it being in a display cabinet . Quote
warwickhunt Posted October 2, 2011 Posted October 2, 2011 Dodgy jack socket... the scourge of Warwick basses! Be sure to fit a good quality one (Switchcraft or better) as it's false economy to fit a cheapy (or dare I say another Warwick one ) Quote

Gust0o Posted October 2, 2011 Posted October 2, 2011 You know, I always wondered if the neck was chrome also... I think I'm pleased it isn't, as the contrast works well; but a full chromic would have brought on the disco. I like it a lot, Nige. I could never pull it off, but am glad someone, somewhere, can Quote
pete.young Posted October 3, 2011 Posted October 3, 2011 Very nice, I love a story with a happy ending. That should go a treat with the ballgown . Quote
lee4 Posted October 5, 2011 Posted October 5, 2011 "What are you doing in the bedroom?" "I'm,er,polishing my Warwick" Euphamism time! Quote
xilddx Posted October 5, 2011 Author Posted October 5, 2011 Been stroking the old streamer tonight as it happens, with other people in the room too! Seriously, first rehearsal with it tonight, it's completely comfortable, a delight to play, and it sounds like a mammoth! Best bass I've ever had, utterly wonderful to play! I just adore it! Strangely, not a single member of my band said anything about it, so it's clearly not that flash Quote
Clarky Posted October 5, 2011 Posted October 5, 2011 Wonder why they said nothing? Here's Nigel's band by the way, folks: Quote
EdwardHimself Posted October 6, 2011 Posted October 6, 2011 v. Shiny. I should imagine chrome bass and silk glvoes are quite a combination lol. Quote
pietruszka Posted October 6, 2011 Posted October 6, 2011 Stunning bass! I played that one not too long ago! Dom mentioned he enjoyed his visit Silddx, it really does have a tremendous sound!! And I wished I could have bought it from him. Dan Quote

That's really nice of Dom to say too. I'll film myself sousing my left bollock in cyder vinegar and eating it on hot buttered toast if anyone can lay claim to seeing me try to sell it Quote
