Killerfridge Posted October 2, 2011 Posted October 2, 2011 (edited) Hi guys, After many months of searching, I think I have found an instrument that I am in love with - The Sadowsky Metroline basses. The problem that has reared its ugly head is this - what colour to get?! I am torn between these 3 combinations: Rosewood and Olympic White (with tort' pickguard) Maple and Olympic White (with tort' pickguard) Maple and Ash (with black or tort' pickguard) So what are your opinions? Cheers guys. Edited October 2, 2011 by Killerfridge Quote
Musicman20 Posted October 2, 2011 Posted October 2, 2011 Olympic White/Rosewood....100%. That maple is very pale. Quote
joe_bass Posted October 2, 2011 Posted October 2, 2011 Maple and OW for me. Agree with Musicman20 about the neck being very pale though. It was the only thing I wasn't perfectly happy with about my Metro. God I miss that bass. Quote
ROConnell Posted October 2, 2011 Posted October 2, 2011 Rosewood. As said before, maple's a bit pale. Quote
Len_derby Posted October 2, 2011 Posted October 2, 2011 I like the ash body. If you've got some nice looking timber why cover it with paint Quote
EssentialTension Posted October 2, 2011 Posted October 2, 2011 I'm never very keen on maple but, as already said, that maple is not attractive. Quote
Donnyboy Posted October 2, 2011 Posted October 2, 2011 I'm a maple neck kinda guy , but I'm liking the rosewood/white - nice contrast. Quote
cocco Posted October 3, 2011 Posted October 3, 2011 Ash/maple for me, although you've got it now. Quote
PTB Posted October 7, 2011 Posted October 7, 2011 White & RW. Mine is CAR & RW and truly wonderful. Don't spend too long deliberating.....you could be playing it! Quote
Killerfridge Posted October 7, 2011 Author Posted October 7, 2011 It's too late, the decision was made... http://basschat.co.uk/topic/156906-nbd/ Quote
CHRISDABASS Posted October 7, 2011 Posted October 7, 2011 When it comes to Sadowsky i always choose rosewood! The wood they use is Morado, it has a sound that sits somewhere in between maple and true rose wood, the best of both worlds really So i'd go for White - Rosewood or to throw a spanner in the works.................
