Musicman20 Posted October 3, 2011 Posted October 3, 2011 I'm well aware her bass player visits these forums...and posts awesome live vids, (this is a different band on this video) Just found this from a US show.... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J_vXhdQerVY Voice....wow! I never really listen to much modern pop, but that girl has one hell of a voice. Total beauty as well. Quote
EdwardHimself Posted October 3, 2011 Posted October 3, 2011 (edited) Can't stand her. Or Katy B for that matter. Give me a singer with a full word for a last name any day. Edited October 3, 2011 by EdwardHimself Quote
chardbass Posted October 3, 2011 Posted October 3, 2011 Count me as a fan. Re the vid- initially I thought it was interesting have left handers on guit and bass, then realised the video is flipped. Looks like a great bass player's gig too. Quote
JTUK Posted October 3, 2011 Posted October 3, 2011 I think she is far more than bubby-gum pop..I think she can sing great and her tunes are a bit now for the market but this girl will not fade in 2 years with the talent she has, IMO. I can see no reason at all why she can't be a Major artist beyond pop singles. Quote
xilddx Posted October 3, 2011 Posted October 3, 2011 Gareth, watch how she will get slagged off on here now she has some success. Once success is achieved, regardless of talent and credibility or whether she is a very nice person, the artist is a machine immune to hurtful comments and criticism, and the fact her bassist is a respected bass chat member don't mean sh*t. waynepunkdude Posted October 3, 2011 Posted October 3, 2011 I quite liked her first song but nothing since, her voice grates on me. Quote

Musicman20 Posted October 3, 2011 Author Posted October 3, 2011
Kiddies pocket money music.
I know it isn't to everyone's tastes, completely agree, but I seriously think she has massive talent. That voice is perfect for soul... I would love to play this gig. Quote

Musicman20 Posted October 3, 2011 Author Posted October 3, 2011 Actually I've no idea! I sourced it from Youtube. How odd. Quote
Mcgiver69 Posted October 3, 2011 Posted October 3, 2011 (edited) I hate her recorded music, always over produced and noisy but live she is something else. I love her when she is singing with a live band, wow just wow. And yes I totally would!! Edited October 3, 2011 by Mcgiver69 Quote
Mike Posted October 3, 2011 Posted October 3, 2011 Haha. I was like "hmm, two lefties, interesting. Wonder if that's something she wanted specifically". Then I saw the backwards Marshall amp! Quote

basskit_case Posted October 4, 2011 Posted October 4, 2011
I would.
would she? Quote
Dandelion Posted October 4, 2011 Posted October 4, 2011 Probably one of the most talented vocalists in the UK today. Her album is a bit of a mishmash of styles in my opinion but it showcases her talent well, Which was perhaps the objective. From what I understand she has a refreshing lack of diva quality too. The UK should be proud of her. She is currently the best we have got. Weird really, considering I mainly get moved by extreme metal bands. She should sing for watain. Quote
LowdownRumble Posted October 4, 2011 Posted October 4, 2011
would she?
She would not as she is a lesbian. Quote
seashell Posted October 4, 2011 Posted October 4, 2011 You chaps all seem to be getting a bit over excited today. I blame it on the weather... Quote
Skol303 Posted October 4, 2011 Posted October 4, 2011 Here today, gone tomorrow... Good luck to her and all who sail with her. But it's not music that has any longevity to it, IMHO. Quote
stingrayPete1977 Posted October 4, 2011 Posted October 4, 2011 (edited) I think the people dissing her need to know she is a successful song writer in her own right so even if she disappears as an act she will be still be writing and working in the business maybe for many years. Has anyone seen her as herself without the harsh persona and makeup on ? Edited October 4, 2011 by stingrayPete1977 Quote

I bet you don't but she's written a few number 1s for huge international pop acts since her brief career fizzled out. Jessie J is lovely in interviews too, i don't particularly care about her pop career as i don't really like the songs but she has a very good voice and the right attitude for the job, which is more than you can say for a lot of flash in the pan acts peddling kids' music.
