Walker Posted October 3, 2011 Posted October 3, 2011 My BEF Pro is pretty noisy, so much so that I'm looking at loopers to knock it out when I don't need it. So I was experimenting with cables and placement and bugger me, it started picking up an eastern European radio station! I turned it off and on again and got a bit of a UK station which faded and back came the eastern European station. I'm in wales, so couldn't be much further away. Anyone else, or just me (as usual!)? I can't get 6music though. Gutted. Quote
xgsjx Posted October 3, 2011 Posted October 3, 2011 Try PMing itswac. I think he works for or with Source Audio. Oh, & whilst I notice your sig, go & have a look here... phil.i.stein Posted October 3, 2011 Posted October 3, 2011 yep , try itswac. although it sounds like a cable/wiring problem. what's your signal chain ? i haven't had any issues with mine, except not being clever enough to get the best out of it yet.. Quote
Walker Posted October 3, 2011 Author Posted October 3, 2011 I've pulled it out of my chain and tested it on it's own with DiMarzio cables (and a few other 'spensive ones!) and a voodoo labs pp2+. This goes into my PJB suitcase which is totally buzz free. It's driving me bonkers! Quote
Walker Posted October 4, 2011 Author Posted October 4, 2011 The radio stations have disappeared this morning, but it's still zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzing. I've emailed Will. Quote
xgsjx Posted October 4, 2011 Posted October 4, 2011 I'm sure there's a mod you can do to store the stations. Quote
cheddatom Posted October 4, 2011 Posted October 4, 2011 In my experience it's always been a dodgy lead that gives radio interference. Quote

Walker Posted October 4, 2011 Author Posted October 4, 2011 I'm taking this offline with Source Audio (amazing customer service!). Quote
GarethFlatlands Posted October 4, 2011 Posted October 4, 2011 I'm having the same problem with my amp, can anyone help? Quote

Walker Posted October 5, 2011 Author Posted October 5, 2011 I'm glad you guys are feeling my pain . Quote
GarethFlatlands Posted October 5, 2011 Posted October 5, 2011 Just kidding :-) Am I wrong in thinking the casing is plastic (albeit high grade stuff) on the Soundblox pedals? Might be a shielding issue. Quote
xgsjx Posted October 5, 2011 Posted October 5, 2011 My moog MF-101 used to whine like a shortwave radio. I got some sticky backed copper paper & put it on the wood sides & made sure that connected with the chassis & put it on it's own PSU. Noise free now I don't know if you could copper shield the BEF? Hopefully Will has your answers. Quote
Walker Posted October 6, 2011 Author Posted October 6, 2011 I've had some help from Source and they have given me a few things to try, so I'll experiment and report back. Incredibly good customer service though. Quote
