sheldon
hi can anyone help me shed light on my Ibanez Musician bass guitar . I brought it an while ago on ebay as an Mark Egan signature model but i cannot find any reference to the model on the net . Here are some pics http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v227/shahpur/eganfull.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v227/shahpur/egancloser.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v227/shahpur/eganback.jpg Any informations would be much appreciated sheldon
Kiwi
Haven't seen one of those before. It looks nearly identical to an Ibanez Musician but with an extra knob and two extra switches. Given the inlay, I wonder if it could be ex-Mark Egan?
Lfalex v1.1
Looks very much as though it's based on an MC924 Musician, albeit with different pick-ups and slightly altered controls. As for lack of official recognition, I'd not worry too much. They're fine instruments from an era when (original) Japanese basses were awesome. bassatnight
I also can't recall a Mark Egan signature model of any kind. I do however recall him playing a musician in the eighties that he had altered, perhaps that's what you have, in which case you may have struck gold! sheldon
thanks for everyone for taking the time to respond to my question . I emailed Mark Egan and he got back to me straight away . The bass is an one off made in the mid 80s for Mark by Ibanez , in 1991 he gave it to Dennis Chambers ( the drummer ) as an gift .
