I've no idea why it's taken me so long but I pulled the trigger last night and ordered myself an Auralex Gramma Pad.

Not exactly a glamour purchase as it doesn't involve strings, wood or amplification but I'm strangely excited about trying it out and finding what all the talk is about at the next few gigs.

For 40 odd quid, you can't really go wrong.

Excellent choice Sir. Its a simple bit of kit that works. :-) I use mine all the time now. The amount of effect it has ranges from "sod all" on concrete floors to "quite a bit" on hollow wooden stages. Have fun!

I bought one about a year ago and use it every time, regardless of floor type.
I was rather dubious about the concept when I first looked at them but have become a willing convert - they are absolutely fab on wooden stages.
It's not perfect but it's certainly taken a big slice of struggle out of getting rid of the inherant boom you get with wooden stages.

I often get told to 'pump it up prince' but I don't think they'll ready for me yet.

I like the room to react and just as the room can hinder, it can enhance, so I just let it be. I can do everything I need to have to do with the amp anyway so I don't bother with the pad.

After ordering LATE! on Wednesday night from Absolute Music, it arrived today. Great service.

Can't wait to try it.
