Bilbo
I am lsitening to Dave Holland's 'Emarald Tears' and have his 'One's All' cd. I also have Edgar Meyer's Bach Cello Suites cd. Does anyone know of any other solo double bass cds> I know of a truckload of duets: Holland and Sam Rivers, HOlland and Milcho Leviev, Haden and Jarrett, Haden and Metheny, Glen Moore and Nancy King etc but can't think of any other solo double bass cds. Loads of electric bass solo stuff but not so much the double bass. Can anyone think of anything I hve missed?
Earbrass
Typing "solo double bass" into the Amazon search bar throws up a few options - mostly classical by the looks of it: http://www.amazon.co...le+bass&x=0&y=0 ...though there is this jazz one (bit pricey mind) http://www.amazon.co...8001524&sr=1-10 Edited October 7, 2011 by Earbrass
Skol303
Sorry Bilbo, I can't add anything useful here, I just wanted to chip in and say that I have Edgar Meyer's Bach suites and love 'em! I started learning these myself but never got any further than No. 1 (the one that everyone tends to learn). Reminds me I must get round to learning the rest... RhysP
What about some of the the Rob Wasserman stuff? I know he did the duets & trios albums, but he did some solo ones too.

lowdown
"Ron Carter meets Bach" Though i think Bach might have regretted meeting Ron Carter after hearing it. Not one of RC's finest - and i like Ron Carter. Garry

Bilbo
Nice stuff, Pete, but its not a solo, its bass with accompaniment. I am looking for stone cold, out there on your own double bass...
Hector
Brian Bromberg has the odd solo track. He's also a totally killer player! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EWHuuffVbLs In fact, now I think about it, pretty sure he has a totally solo album out now: http://brianbromberg.net/audio/hands/hands.html

Eight years since Bilbo's 'motherlode', he may be in need of new stuff; well done.
