ACG Recurve

I nipped up to Bassday yesterday and collected the finished bass from Alan and I'm absolutely thrilled with it. It's stunning. I'll just let you ogle at the pictures, and I'll get a fuller report up when I've spent a little more time with it.

I was lucky enough to wander past and catch a glimpse of this bass as it was being handed over

In the flesh it looks really nice, just like all of Alans other ones on the stand!

I'm not taken by spalted tops really.

However, that fretboard has got to be the nicest fretboard I have ever seen. Absolutely stunning! Really like the shape of ACG's as well. Any sound clips??

The thing that really strikes me about the ACG's is Alan's ability to put together really busy looking woods without the result being a dog's dinner. It would be so easy to overstep the taste line, but Alan gets it right every time!

Actually I have just spent a few minutes looking at that and concluded that I do like the top it works looking at the finished piece but not on its own.
