Deep Thought
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Alembic-Stanley-Clar...1QQcmdZViewItem Even if I could afford it, which I certainly can't. No doubt many will think it the most gorgeous thing since sliced bread, just not my thang, man. Each to his own.
ped
I have never seen one like this in the flesh, but I imagine the little body would be quite neat. My fave Alembic shape is still the Europa though.
crez5150
That seems a bit excessive??
zapp
The same guy is flogging another Alembic and a Fodera.
acidbass
It's a shame that someone had their dream bass built to their specifications, and is now selling it to fund another bout of GAS. Are we bassists never happy?
Tait
dunno, im sure plenty of shuker owners out there are content, i'm sure i will be after my five day course with him, and thats not even a real shuker!
The Funk
I tried a 7 grand Alembic in The Gallery once. Great fun. Not worth 7 grand of my money though.
OutToPlayJazz
I know what you mean... Custom builders are highly varied in their pricing. I priced an Alembic Series II for a client last year & it came to something like £8000! I'd seriously like a Fodera Victor Wooten Yin-Yang signature, but they're about $9200 US!!! Luckily my Status basses all come in at under £2k. That's rich enough for my pockets! Now, about that Overwater 6-string... Hmmmmm... Guest MoJo
I wonder if Macca knows Heather's selling off some of his basses
GremlinAndy
I don't mind stumping up for basses... but £6000 is beyond the envelope. And that's not it's real cost. I reckon you're buying the brand/name rather than that much value. Do they *really* cost that much more to make than other basses? I can't see it myself. Way overpriced IMHO. SpitfireXXII
Damn, that thing's got more knobs than Yates' wine lodge....
GreeneKing
Well, I think that's the best thing 'before' sliced bread. Seriously I love the Stanley Clarke Alembics but when I look at what my ACG cost by comparison it's complete madness.
