discreet Posted October 9, 2011 Posted October 9, 2011 (edited) Hee hee, this is great. I remember watching Buster Crabbe as Flash Gordon in black and white while hundreds of kids proceeded to shout and fling sweets at each other throughout the entire performance. A geezer in a suit appeared at the end to make some sort of announcement which was always obscured by a hail of sweets and barrage of farting noises. Kids were rude and had no respect then as well, please note. Edit for memory loss. Edited October 9, 2011 by discreet Quote
bremen Posted October 12, 2011 Posted October 12, 2011
The question is, why have they used an American picture of a "gas" station?
I haven't seen such a great example of 'no-sh*t-sherlock' journalism for weeks. 'Motorway service stations are expensive but they have toilets'. Thank God for the Torygraph! Quote
KevB Posted October 13, 2011 Posted October 13, 2011 (edited) Back to the OP, any of you actually been to Spalding? it's a real backwater, probably more so in the late 60's. Imagine all those guys turning up to play the gig - locals probably thought it was an alien invasion or something! Edited October 13, 2011 by KevB Quote
