dangee Posted October 9, 2011 Posted October 9, 2011 (edited) Still up at £1200... A couple of trade options...Gibson Les Paul or a top end 6 string acoustic. One of a limited run of USA 75 re-issues in sonic blue with matching headstock. Blocks and binding on a rosewoord board. Comes with original case, case candy and receipts. Serial number is 20. Quality build and amazing slim neck. There are two minor blemishes that I tried to photo- there is a small patch of slight discolouration where your right forearm would rest and there is a small bruise on the lower bout- this hasn't broken the finish and is barely visible. Neither of them are at all significant, but always best to overstate on these matters. There is a thread on these rare models here...http://basschat.co.u...special+edition £1200 Thanks, Dan Edited November 19, 2011 by dangee
martthebass Posted October 9, 2011 Posted October 9, 2011 Very nice.....unfortunately no skinny strings to trade!
karlfer Posted October 9, 2011 Posted October 9, 2011 Thank God I'm GAS free. er, well, er, I'd better close my eyes
dangee Posted October 9, 2011 Author Posted October 9, 2011 Thanks for all of the positive comments...yes, stunning, very playable and rare!
EssentialTension Posted October 9, 2011 Posted October 9, 2011 Very tempting but, as usual, no wonga.
molan Posted October 9, 2011 Posted October 9, 2011 (edited) I reckon what you need is a Patrick Eggle LA Pro - they slay Fenders and, with a Jeff Beck humbucker in the bridge, have a great juicy lead tone. http://www.patrickeggleguitars.org/pic/92/lapro92a.jpg Somewhat surprisingly I just happen to have one I'd gladly PX against a '75 RI Edited October 9, 2011 by molan
LukeFRC Posted October 10, 2011 Posted October 10, 2011 I had a Lake placid blue one, I think it was alder body with poly paint, i 'think' your one is an ash body and maybe nitro? anyway a very nice bass- and a good price too. very good in face\t

lozbass Posted October 11, 2011 Posted October 11, 2011 As might be expected (it's sonic blue) this has been through my hands, albeit indirectly. It's a very beautiful instrument and a fantastic player. It was recently re-strung with TI Jazz rounds and sounds wonderful. There's a lot of confusion and misinformation about these very rare instruments - I'm convinved it's poly over ash. It's certainly not nitro. This is a bargain!

For information, the case candy includes hang tag, original receipt, pick-up covers and the other usual suspects. I'll get a picture up in the next couple of days.

The Twickerman Posted October 21, 2011 Posted October 21, 2011 ...if Brentwood were closer I'd HAVE to take a look. Maybe it's just as well.
