Tommy Cogbill was an awesome musician and producer.

Interesting.... the guys at American Studios, where Tommy Cogbill recorded, say that he played bass on Memphis Soul Stew!

Tommy Cogbill played some great stuff.

Re Memphis Soul Stew, I believe Tommy did the studio version & Jerry did the famous King Curtis live version.

[size=4][color=#222222][font=Arial]Apparently TC mostly recorded with a 59 P bass, and for a time the studio bass amp was a Fender Twin Reverb with one speaker missing. They miked the remaining speaker and mixed it with a DI. But It's TC's laid back feel that gets me every time.[/font][/color]

Garry, hope you didn't get the wrong end of the stick by my referencing you wasn't in a negative way! I personally can't recall seeing too much about him on here up until now so well worth getting a thread going
