wateroftyne
Hi all Jim's put his new line of ceramic cabs on his site.
JTUK
I am glad he has followed the AE type styling. The HD212 would be too heavy for me but I would be in the market for a harder edge type 12.
wateroftyne
Yeah - they look lovely. I'm surprised he didn't go vertical for the 210...
JTUK
hmmmm..not for me. Not sure about the low frequencies being a factor off axis, myself, but don't want to go off on that tangent. I like the look of them....and I can see my using AE or HD altho the latter might have to wait until we see U.K prices. I think £600-ish for a single 12" was a bit stupid myself esp as I don't see these as a one cab solution at all...but that applies to any 12" cab, IMV.
Ah - I mean keep the box as-is, with the staggered drivers, but put the badge and handles in the vertical stylee - most people seem to use them that way. He did that with the last run of AEs, I think...
Musicman20
Nice! Great aesthetics. The 2x12 is one heavy can though! Quite a bit heavier than my DB212! I'd like a 1x12 or 2x10. Bass direct has the 1x12 at £550.
JTUK
hmmm now that is interesting.. You say the HD212 is heavier than the DB212..?? My DB210's are 61lbs...which is heavy enough. HD112 at £550...hmmm..!! in a better way
JTUK
I think the handle is wrong on the HD112... might work if only the one side though.
LiamPodmore
Maann.... If only i could afford Bergantino cabs, i'd love something like a NV610 for big gigs and 2 of these HD112's or HD210's for smaller ones. Liam
charic
So am I the only one annoyed by yet another blatent use of HD?
Toasted
No Charic - but you can see where he's coming from with previous lines called HS and HT. I love Berg cabs and I'll almost definitely be buying some of these.
chris_b
Come on people. Start selling your AE212's!!
Raggy
I'm keeping mine
wateroftyne
Nice to see he hasn't deviated much from the HS210. It confirms he got it right first time.
Musicman20
Yes, the 2x10 looks great! The DB212 is 70lbs and has casters, so another 10lbs without casters is probably a no-go for me. The 1x12 and 2x10 though....hmm! Edited October 12, 2011 by Musicman20
JTUK
Come on people. Start selling your AE212's!!
Indeed I'd go for either AE112 or AE212...but the HD12 is also tempting. hmmmm
Musicman20
If the HD112 is the same (almost) as the HT112ER (eg smooth, almost PA like flat quality tone with a massive amount of low of capability) then I'll be interested.

stingrayPete1977
They are perhaps just a little bit too smooth for me Paul, that said I don't own a 2x10 and for certain gigs I'd prefer a Berg tone so that would be the one for me. I originally bought the one cab and found it lacking a bit. Advice from Mark at Bass Direct when i bought it was that 2nd cab would provide more "presence" rather than just volume. He was right enough. Having the 2 cabs made quite a fair difference. Played a few different bands with these and they suit all styles IMO Dave
JTUK
I agree... I always say a single 12" is crap by comparison to two.
stingrayPete1977
And two is not in the same league as a 2x12 either
