eubassix
Been asked a few times to put a couple (or more) of my basses up on the Porn section. So here's a couple to start: my favourite bass(es) and built by Marleaux to my specs and choices. The Signature is the top-of-the-line option and this pair is also neck-through (rather than bolt-on). Wood choices are fairly obvious and the basses demo the special features of the Signature model, including the flame-maple bound f/board. The fretted bass features the unique Marleaux Programmable EQ, and the fretless bass is Active-Passive. Both are 3EQ. I have a lot of photos but have selected a handful which show both the quality of workmanship and the contrasts betwee the two, which are very similar in most respects.... BigRedX
Outstanding! Marleaux basses are some of my favourites especially the short-lived Marleaux Pagelli. Nearly bought a fretless Consat at the 2007 Bass Day except I'd brought the wrong credit card with me...

zapp
I'm not sure why but they put me in mind of Alembic (which is no bad thing). Could be the neck through woodiness or the shape of the pups. They look mighty fine.
Macko1968
Having bought 1 Marleaux bass from Dave & tried a couple more I can tell you they play & sound even better than they look. Criminally overlooked instruments.

Criminally overlooked instruments.
+1!! Which did you buy? I still have Marleaux leccy in my fretted 4 and love it to bits. They also did an amazing job of custom fitting a beautiful neck to a Carvin BB75 me and David used to own. I noticed recently that Marleaux have updated their website - check it out, there are some beautiful pictures there. Cheers ped

lozbass
Oh dear, am I to understand that one/both of the Marleaux are for sale (again)? I don't play long-scale anymore, but if anything could persuade me...
eubassix
Sorry (John) - forgot to link in both directions (Porn/4-sale):- http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=44158 ... only really contemplating a sale if the Kinals don't go (by any means of combined sale/trade etc.). Prefer to sell as a pair (as built/intended) or - if not viable - then only if sale of each confirmed. I'm really hoping - as you probably can tell - that I don't have to let them go (and would let just one-of-two go) unless the 5's don't go somehow.
